The way a company deals with energy, CO₂ emissions, waste and water consumption has a strong impact on the environment. Our primary goal is to reduce the consumption of all resources as much as possible in the production and operation of our locations and to contribute to the protection of the environment.
A commitment for future generations
Environmental sustainability is a core value of NOVOMATIC, not only in Italy but worldwide, and for years the Group's Annual Report has been reporting on consumption with a view to promoting energy saving and reducing emissions. The Group pursues a model of sustainable development that cares for the Planet and complies with the principles of eco-sustainability, by saving corporate impacts and creating value for the benefit of future generations, in line with the ESG parameters outlined by the EU.
NOVOMATIC's environmental strategy, in addition to strict compliance with relevant regulations, is guided by the following principles
- Responsible consumption of environmental resources
- Combating climate change
- Environmental education in the day-to-day operations of sites and venues
The Group's aspiration is to raise awareness and respect throughout the value production chain, to ensure that the level of attention to the ecosystem and sustainable use of resources increases in daily and business choices.
The new photovoltaic system in our Rimini HQ
The overall structure, set up on the roof of the headquarters, consists of 3 installations, each connected to the 3 PODs, supplying energy to the entire building occupied by NOVOMATIC Italia. The three installations, with peak powers of 110, 70 and 65 Kwp, for a total of 245 Kwp provide clean, self-produced energy useful to supply all the site's energy supply, from general (lighting, cooling, heating and others) to specific energy for the production and logistics departments. The Group manages, through the plant, to satisfy more than 40% of its annual energy needs, guaranteeing, for the benefit of the entire local community, less CO2 emissions of more than 2,100,000 kg over its estimated 30 years of life, amounting to 70 tonnes per year.
Equally important are the overall "dimensions" of the factory: the more than 600 panels positioned on the roof of the premises and connected to the grid through 8 inverters, develop a total surface area of more than 1,200 square metres.
